This stream is very much a wild fishery, with Chub, Trout, and Grayling the main species, good watercraft will make all the difference when stalking your quarry. The lower section has a good mix of fast runs, and deep holes, whilst the upper Blithe is a slower River, where Chub are dominant, although be prepared, large Rainbows have made their way upriver from the reservoir.

The lower River, with it's fast runs & riffles, has a mixture of Chub, Grayling, and Trout. For the fly angler, there are good hatches all year round, with the Mayfly showing in numbers around the 1st week of June. Patterns such as Greenwell's Glory, Adams, Klinkhamers, Pheasant tail nymphs, and GRHE nymphs account themselves well.
