Farletonview is a new WADAA water for 2019, which the club will be running in conjunction with the owners, the Robinson family. The fishery comprises two man-made lakes on a working farm, very close to M6 exit 36 (South Lakes). The lakes are spring-fed with a Ph of close to 8, making them incredibly fertile. The owners tell us that there is significant overwintering here, with some fish growing on, so you never quite know what might turn up. The abundance of natural food suggests that imitative patterns will work well.
Fly life can be prolific with excellent buzzer hatches, olives and damsels later in the year. Caenis, hatch in their millions on summer evenings during June and July. The fishery is not deep (a little over 8 feet) and a floating line is generally all that is needed, apart from during the colder months when lures come into their own. From late-spring through to late-autumn this is an excellent dry fly and nymph water.
This will be WADAA’s most user-friendly fishery; cars can be parked within the fishery, the banks are level with plenty of space for your backcasts. For the less mobile, or wheelchair-bound, there is a purpose-built platform. Beginners will find this a good venue to develop their skills.
There is also a café on site, providing refreshments and meals for 4 days – Thursday to Sunday – of the week, and for customers of the café, there are toilets. The café is open 9:00am to 4:00pm, Thursday-Sunday, with last orders called at 3:45pm.
Please note that all anglers must access the lake via the new access road, this track is located on your left 50 yards past the motorway bridge. The entrance is signed WADAA and all anglers must use this entrance. Please note there is strictly NO parking at the tearoom. Please see the map below for more details.
Season
The fishery is open from 1st February until the 30th of November.
Hours
Fishing is allowed from 8am to sunset. No entry to the fishery before 8am.
1st February – 29th February and 1 November – 30 November will have restricted opening hours: 9 am – 4.00 pm. The Tearoom will be closed and access is limited to the lake edge and adjacent car park. The gates will be locked at 4.30 pm so you must be outside the Fishery to avoid being locked in! The last time for entry during February and November is 2.30 pm.
Exit at Junction 36 of the M6 and take the A65 east to the first roundabout. At the roundabout take the third (right) exit, go straight across the small roundabout and follow the road to the first turn on your right.
This minor road goes back over the motorway and access is on the left (signed WADAA) after 100 metres.
All anglers MUST use this entrance to the Fishery. Parking is not allowed at the tearoom.

Membership, Day Ticket
If you purchased your ticket online via Castbooker, please bring your confirmation email and some form of identification with you when you fish as you may need to show them to a Bailiff (this can be printed or on your phone).
The lake holds a large number of fish ranging from 2 to 10 pounds. Catches of over 20 fish are not uncommon with an average year round of around 3 fish per angler.
