If you purchased your ticket online via Castbooker, please bring your confirmation email and some form of identification with you when you fish as you may need to show them to a Bailiff (this can be printed or on your phone).
Rules

Anyone signing up on a disabled membership must provide proof of disability badge to the club via email (BDAS-burydistrictanglingsociety@outlook.com) otherwise your membership will not be valid

Anyone signing up to a juniors or veteran membership must provide relevant proof of age (under 18 or 65+) to the club via email (BDAS-burydistrictanglingsociety@outlook.com) otherwise your membership will not be valid.

Anglers Rules for fishing on BDAS Waters

 BDAS General Rules.

  1. ALL members must have a valid club permit with them at all times whilst on any BDAS waters.
  2. ALL members must have a valid Environment Agency rod license whilst fishing on any BDAS waters.

Failure to produce the valid permit or license when requested will result in you being asked to leave the water and reported to the relevant authorities.

  1. Under NO circumstances must any fires be lit on the banks and pathways of any BDAS water or surrounding areas.
  2. Juniors under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a senior member or adult day ticket holder at all times.
  3. TWO rods maximum on all BDAS waters with the exception of Elton reservoir where THREE are permitted.
  4. NO rods are to be left unattended at any time.
  5. All gates MUST be securely locked on entry and departure where provided.
  6. Gate codes or keys must NOT be passed onto anyone else. All valid members and ticket holders are provided these directly.
  7. No night fishing on BDAS waters with the exception of Elton reservoir and Dearden’s Carp Fishery.
  8. Carp fishing - Micro barbed hooks ONLY.
  9. General coarse fishing – Barbless hooks ONLY.
  10. No litter, including all line, hooks, shot, bait bags, drink and food containers, are to be left at any time. ALL members are responsible for any litter present on their peg. PLEASE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME.
  11. Please be considerate when parking your vehicles on or near any BDAS water.
  12. Pegs must NOT be modified in any way whatsoever, by unauthorized persons.
  13. The banks and water edges must not be disturbed for any purposes.
  14. NO harming of any wildlife in or around any BDAS controlled water.
  15. In the interest of fairness only cast into the swim in front of you.
  16. ALL fish must be returned to the water they were caught from and no fish may be moved under any circumstances.
  17. Any member or non-member caught illegally stocking or removing fish from any of the club waters will be reported to both the Police, the Environment Agency and DEFRA (if applicable) with view to prosecution.
  18. ALL anglers specifically fishing for carp or pike must have a suitably sized landing net, carp cradle and carp care kit.
  19. The Magic Twig is banned on all BDAS waters.
  20. No carp sacks are to be used at ANY TIME. Retention/Floatation devices may be used for a MAXIMUM of 30 minutes.
  21. Tench and carp (except crucians or F1s) must NOT be retained in keep nets except in official club matches.
  22. The excessive consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden on any BDAS water. If any bailiff deems an angler to be unfit to fish safely and they will be asked to leave, bailiffs’ decision is final.
  23. The consumption of ANY illegal substance is strictly forbidden on any BDAS water.
  24. NO air rifles or any type of firearms to be taken on or used on any BDAS waters or land.
  25. Any member witnessing a breach of the rules are to report it to a Bailiff or Committee member ASAP – contact telephone numbers and emails are provided on your membership cards and we can be contacted directly on our Facebook page.
  26. Bury District Angling Society hold the right to cancel any membership without refund immediately, if a member fails to abide by any of the club’s rules. Or as the club and its officials see fit if the member poses a threat to them, their members or live stock.

 

Dearden’s Carp Fishery Specific Rules.

  1. All General rules apply to this water with the following included on this water.
  2. Dearden’s carp fishery is by booking only, this is done via your member account, anyone not booked on will be asked to leave.
  3. Maximum of 4 booking slots per week.
  4. Maximum session length is 48 hours (maximum 4 continuous booking slots). In the interest of fairness this may be reduced to 24 hours (2 booking slots) during busy periods, the committee will monitor this.
  5. No Juniors allowed on Dearden’s carp fishery.
  6. Minimum of 12lb line must be used at all times, 10lb hook lengths may be used when floater fishing.
  7. No braided line or braid shock leaders.
  8. Fishing is from the provided pegs, 1 angler per peg, (no doubling up).
  9. Cradles, Nets and slings are provided, these are located in the dedicated store, the register must be filled out on arrival and departure. Anyone found using anything other than ones provided will be asked to leave and suspended pending committee meeting.
  10. Micro barbed hooks only.
  11. Boilie and pellet only on this water.
  12. All rigs must be safe in the event of a line break or snag up, bailiffs will carry out checks.
  13. All anglers must have a carp care product in possession at all times, failure to show to a bailiff will result in you being asked to leave the water.
  14. No guests. Members are allowed to visit other members for short periods e.g. To take photos.
  15. No pets allowed.
  16. Bait boats are allowed, however if the bailiff is called out to retrieve a bait boat due to a flat battery or it becoming stuck it will be recovered at a cost of £20 and will be recovered as soon as one of the team is available.
  17. All 20lb+ fish should be reported via the club members page or via WhatsApp number 07539272653 to monitor weight growth, any 25lb+ fish, please contact one of the team immediately (we may wish to attend site).
  18. Please use the toilet provided and keep it clean and tidy for all other members, please bring your own toilet roll and sanitizer.
  19. There will be two weeks in the spring and the autumn exclusive for members who have completed a work party. Dates are TBC.

Elton Reservoir Specific Rules

  1. All general rules apply with the following included on this water.
  2. Car parking is located before the sailing club entrance on the right, vehicles parked at owners own risk.
  3. Fishing is permitted in the blue highlighted zones on the map provided, no fishing outside these zones due to health and safety.
  4. Night fishing is for members only.
  5. No bait restrictions on this water, particles and nuts must be prepared accordingly.
  6. Bait boats are permitted at owners own risk; there is no method of retrieval on this water.
  7. Sailing is the primary water use and have right of way, there is to be no confrontation with any sailors, any reports of this will be dealt with accordingly.
  8. This water is used by open water swimmers via the sailing club, care must be taken to avoid swimmers, any complaints will be dealt with accordingly.
  9. There will be no fishing on sailing club race dates. These will be made available through your member’s account.
